I was born in Brazil in 1989, moved to the USA in 1997. I have degrees in English Literature and Spanish Language from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta.
I love Jesus, though I have doubt and questions. I struggle with how to pull my faith away from the culture that flaunts it and claims it in the same breath as nationalism and capitalism. I can be a bit awkward but I’m usually friendly. I love to read to learn and to escape. I volunteer with underprivileged and undocumented students. I write when I’m not too distracted by Netflix or too consumed by insecurity and sadness. I love my family—my mother, my big sister, my stepfather. I am always a bit intense.
And I read the Game of Thrones books without watching the show which provides me with a thin haze of superiority at all times.
